Gobandit GPS HD action camcorder is certainly one tough video recorder that can withstand water and some rough movements. The integrated GPS which can show your speed (current and max) and altitude in 3D, on a map.

It only measures 105 x 62 x 34 mm and weighs 145 grams. Videos can be shot in either HD or SD, at a maximum of 720p at 30fps. Users also have the option to capture some 5-megapixel action stills within 3 to 5 second intervals. 2GB of memory is built into the cam, but SDHC support means up to 32GB of footage from the side of your lid.

TomTom unveiled two new five-inch navigators, the XXL 530S and XXL 540S. The new models will come with IQ Routes, full maps of the US and Canada, TomTom Map Share and HOME features and also TomTom’s newly redesigned menu system.

The TomTom XXL 540S includes Advanced Lane Guidance, maps of Mexico, and adding a “High-quality” black finish and bumps the number of POIs to seven million. The XL 530S and 540S are expected to be available in October, retailing for $279.95 and $299.95, respectively.

Maptor : Portable Map Projector Equipped with GPS

Introducing Maptor, portable map projector equipped with GPS makes getting lost is not so trendy. Shaving some size and weight off the average GPS handheld or foldable map, Maptor displays your maps via a pico projector no larger than a lipstick.

Designed by Jinsun Park and Seonkeun Park of South Korea’s Samsung Art & Design Institute, Maptor includes a built-in GPS receiver that provides you with a little red dot on the map that points to your current location, so that you can quickly get your bearings.

A button lets you zoom in or out of the projected image, has a simple on/off toggle and a switch to control zoom and map size. It can download maps via Bluetooth connection and is battery-powered like a regular flashlight. Maptor is not yet a product. See the video below for more information on this concept.

Garmin Releases Oregon 550 And Oregon 550t with 3.2 MP camera

Garmin has just announced the upcoming availability of the Oregon 550 and Oregon 550t, touchscreen GPS handhelds with 3.2-megapixel camera.

Other features, a 3-axis compass, 850MB of internal storage and USB connectivity, all crammed into one waterproof chassis, sunlight-readable display, two precharged AA NiMH batteries, loads of waypoint storage and the ability to route you while on the road, on the trail or in the wild.

The Garmin 550T costs $599.99 and includes US topographical maps while the 550 cost $499.99 includes a worldwide map.

Garmin-Asus has announced a GSM-based phone with HSDPA data capability, along with both wi-fi and Bluetooth, an all-in-one phone, mobile web-browser and premium navigation system with a Windows Mobile operating system named Garmin-Asus nüvifone M20. The M20 is described as a phone with GPS functionality. The company also dropped the Linux operating system for Windows Mobile 6.1.

Garmin-Asus nüvifone M20 come with a full QWERTY keyboard, the 2.8-inch TFT touchscreen, full HTML browsing, office suite with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF document. Garmin Forerunner 310XT features is a GPS-enabled with high-sensitivity receiver, waypoints/favorites up to 100 locations, water resistant (50m).
